Face Painting at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

One of many little ways to make your child's day special at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is to get his/her face painted!!  It's a fun, cheap little splurge that I'm sure your kiddo will always remember!

Chloe decided she wanted a dolphin on her cheek and it was only $6!  Isn't she cute?!

Crystal Cove State Park ~ California

Crystal Cove State Park is not just an ordinary beach along the beautiful Pacific coastline, it is a park that boasts wooded canyons, open bluffs, beautiful tidepools, and an offshore area designated as an under water park. It is used by people looking to swim, surf, sunbath, fish, mountain bike, and hike. It is also a spot that had great dining and quaint historic cottages available for rent!

We decided to visit one evening when the tide was low to check out the tidepools and watch surfers and boogie boarders do their thing. It was a couple of hours before sunset and the beach was full of families playing in the waves, building sandcastles, digging for crabs, exploring the tidepools, and capturing the beautiful scenery with photographs!

We found huge star fish, sea anemones, goose neck barnacles, crabs, mussels, and fish. This is a great spot for kids, an absolute must do if you are visiting as a family.  These little things are so cute and if you touch them they close up…always treat them with care and never try to remove them!! The creatures that inhabit the rocks and tidepools rely on them for shelter and protection so avoid moving any rocks and always walk slowly and carefully!

Details:

  • The parking lot is actually across from the park. You can walk or take a bus for $1 pp. each way. There is a drop off area on the beach side so you don’t have to carry all of your beach gear across the street.
  • The Beachcomber Cafe is a great place to eat.
  • The Shake Shack is great for a quick bite, yummy shakes, and great views.
  • Check the tide schedule to see when it’s low tide. This is the best time to visit the tidepools.

Welcome to Travel and Photography Today

Welcome to Travel and Photography Today.   I am excited to start this journey and I am so glad you have decided to take the time to check me out!   Thank You!!!

I guess I got started because people are always telling me that we do so much!   We love to travel and experience new things, whether it is going away on vacations or just taking day trips, so that is why I’ve decided to turn our experiences into a blog and share those journeys with you.   I hope to inspire you to do the same.

We like to think that there’s nothing more valuable than memories so we try and get out there and make them as often as we can!   Spencer and I have been sharing our love of traveling for 9 years now and we really make it a priority in our lives.   It is something that we are very passionate about and our girls have really come to love it also.

It’s funny because I am more of a beach goer who loves warm, tropical weather and my husband is more of an outdoorsman who loves cooler weather, mountains, and hiking.   Chloe loves the beach and has really become an excellent boogie boarder and Jillian love checking out waterfalls and telling ghost stories by the campfire.   Somehow it all works!

Traveling with children isn’t always easy, but it’s so worth every minute.   I think one of the most valuable gifts that I can give my girls is the experience of seeing what else this world has to offer.   For us it is also a great family bonding time for us because we really unplug from the rest of the world... no computers, no phones, no TV…just quality family time!

So what do we do when we are not traveling?  My wonderful hubby, Spencer, is a chiropractor and he owns his own practice, Active Spine Chiropractic, and I help run his office while our girls are in school. He is also kind of a health nut and has a blog of his own, www.ILiveForHealth.com   We also just started a new business/directory called www.PainintheWreck.com

I hope you enjoy what you see and read!  I love comments and emails, too!!  Find me on Facebook!
